Description: In general,
women of color feel latent racial stigmatization in society by the aesthetic
aspect of their race, influencing their social and economic status. I wanted to
study this human characteristic through restructure this aspect with the
deformation. Here I appropriate the style of Picasso who saw beauty in the
woman by restructuring the normality of the figure into something abnormal. I
divided the composition in two planes: one where I used aluminum foil to redraw
the elements that extracted magazine photo, and on the other plane to transfer
the restructured idea of the first image. This piece has no frame and is signed
at the back.
