Sílvia Gàmiz Prat

Vaig néixer a Madrid, jo, Sílvia Gàmiz Prat. Era febrer del 1963 i feia poc que hi havia hagut una gran nevada que va col·lapsar moltes ciutats, potser per això m'agrada tant el fred i l'hivern.

Vaig anar a viure a Badalona, on vivien els meus familiars, a l'edat de 6 anys.

Ja des de llavors em vaig aficionar als llibres i al dibuix. Amb els meus germans vam reunir més de 300 llibres a la biblioteca de casa.

Des de petita vaig viure envoltada de les tradicions i costums del meu país, Catalunya.

He treballat de mestra durant molts anys, fent classe a infantil i primària. Un dels treballs que vaig coordinar i dur a terme amb més il·lusió va ser la construcció dels gegants de l'escola: El més petit de tots i Margarida; basats en uns dibuixos de la il·lustradora Lola Anglada.

He estudiat il·lustració a l'escola Francesca Bonne Maison de la Diputació de Barcelona.

Tinc un taller on dono classe de dibuix i pintura als més petits. 

Actualment, segueixo vivint, estudiant i treballant a Badalona, la meva ciutat.

I was born in Madrid, I, Sílvia Gàmiz Prat. It was February 1963 and not long ago there had been a big snowfall that collapsed many cities, maybe that's why I like the cold and winter so much.

I went to live in Badalona, where my relatives lived, at the age of 6.

Since then I became fond of books and drawing. My brothers and I collected more than 300 books in our home library.

From an early age I lived surrounded by the traditions and customs of my country, Catalonia.

I have worked as a teacher for many years, teaching kindergarten and primary school. One of the jobs that I coordinated and carried out with the greatest enthusiasm was the construction of the school's giants: The smallest of all and Margarida; based on drawings by the illustrator Lola Anglada.

I studied illustration at the Francesca Bonne Maison school of the Diputació de Barcelona.

I have a workshop where I teach drawing and painting to the little ones.

Currently I continue to live, study and work in Badalona, my city.
